Yom Kippur is a thoughtful, somber, and meaningful Jewish holy day. It is a time for contemplation and pensive observation. As our Jewish friends humbly engage in atonement, let’s all reflect upon the eternal American intention to boost justice, good will, peace, and liberty.
Tomorrow a speech will be given at the United Nations General Assembly. The speech will be brimming with disgusting anti-Semitic hyperbole. The shameful spectacle will be in front of an organization whose own charter suggests that world peace is only possible through kinship, co-operation, and a sympathetic meeting of minds.
The grim irony alone, during this holy season, provides an opportunity for all of us to reflect upon the kind of leaders we choose to represent our country. As people of all faiths spend time in meditation and prayer let’s contemplate the direction America is heading and who is leading it in that direction.
God bless our Jewish friends, God bless our Judeo-Christian foundation, God bless Israel, and God bless America.
