Ladies and Gentlemen: Why the Survival of Our Republic Depends On the Revival Of Honor By Dr. Gina Loudon And Dr. Dathan Paterno

Book Review By: @DocJ4U

Gone were the days we could sit in the church pews and pray for good leaders to lead. Gone were the coveted days where good parenting—raising up an army—seemed our godly duty to this country. Gone, once and for all, were the days when our vote seemed to matter. This was going to be epic—we could feel it. When we didn’t know what else to do, we dared to protest” (Loudon and Paterno; 2012, p.213)

For such a time as this, I wholeheartedly agree with the core premise of Ladies and Gentlemen. The anxiety, confusion, and concern on the faces of my patients constitute my professional belief and self evident conclusion: Most Americans are innately experiencing and feeling a sense of urgency. This sense of urgency is the result of the concerning and peculiar direction our Republic is headed. Something is terribly wrong in America. Some people have the ability to articulate these wrongs, some do not. Yet, collectively, they can all feel it. No one alive today can give us the exact thoughts and feelings of our founding Mothers and Fathers. However, I believe it is safe to say they would agree something drastic must be done to turn this ship around: America needs sudden and relentless reform. In Ladies and Gentlemen: Drs. Loudon and Paterno express their own personal call to arms and offer detailed solutions on how to turn this ship around while our nation teeters on the brink.

Ladies and Gentlemen is a personal call to each one of us. This book is a personal call to take advantage of our multiplatform, multimedia, informational age. The Drs. show us how to use the technologies we have been blessed with to be constructive. They offer up examples and solutions on how to use these technologies to turn the ship around. They show us how to express our rage and outrage, our fear and anxiety, and the self evident gut feeling that encompasses most Americans in a constructive manner. The personal call of Ladies and Gentlemen is bold and clearly articulated, similar to the original personal call in the Declaration of Independence.

Our founding Mothers and Fathers communicated to us a blueprint without losing their sense of well thought and considered opinions in their writings. They never lost themselves to mob rule, and they remained Ladies and Gentlemen.

In this clearly and considered book, the Drs. demonstrate how to use new informational platforms to express ourselves with the same consideration and clarity of our foremothers’ and forefathers’. How we exercise our God given right to freedom of speech in a polite yet effective manner. Ladies and Gentlemen shows us the who, what, when, why and how to use today’s outlets to join with those of the past and those of the present in addressing our grievances.

Much like our foremothers and forefathers, God is not left on the sideline. God is an active participant both inside of us and outside of us; giving us strength and just the right words to use even though we may not all be accomplished authors. The Spirit is there to cradle us when adverse opinions are expressed about our writings. It is the Spirit that gives us the strength and fortitude to continue the good fight. It is the Spirit that tells us that the opinions of ONE do matter. It reminds us of the ONE MAN who changed and is changing the world.

Ladies and Gentlemen, in expressing our God given rights we are active participants in creation and have an intrinsic and extrinsic duty to aid all of us in these troubled times, like our foremothers and forefathers did with their Declaration. I recommend this book to you as a way to join the restoration of America.

@AGUGrizzlies: We Double Dare @SkimLinks to Treat Michelle Obama and @SarahPalinUSA Equally

Over the years working with American Grizzlies United and Organize4Palin we have been hacked, sent hate mail, had porn sent to us, threatend and harrassed in so many ways that listing them all would really tick us off because we hate wasting time when we have a country to restore.

We’re sure you are fed up with the double standards and discrimination that has been coming from the left for years. This weekend once again a little left wing devilry came our way.

On Saturday August 25th around 2pm American Grizzlies United used our Data Base/Email Blast provider to send an evite to all our hard working AGU-AZ volunteers.

We used our 3rd party Data Base/Email Blast provider to inform and invite our Arizona volunteers to a BBQ & Picnic with congressional candidate Kirk Adams and special guest: Governor Sarah Palin.

(Mr. Adams has been endorsed by Governor Sarah Palin and is showcased on the AGU 2012 Primary Candidate List)

AGU regularly uses this 3rd party Data Base/Email Blast provider to keep in touch with our nation wide network of concerned citizen volunteers. We are happy customers and they provide an excellent (albeit expensive) service. Their 24/7 support team is beyond helpful and their product is effective and well worth the high monthly cost.

After the email blast went out to Arizona. We noticed something strange in the email that was not in the test preview. We noticed that a Company called Skimlinks AKA Skimwords automatically decided to add a link to the email that we composed.

Skimlinks chose to link the words: Governor Sarah Palin to a crude costume ridiculing the Governor. This happend automatically at the entire discretion of Skimlinks. We did not ask for them to do this, we did not sign up for their service and quite frankly have never heard about them.

After a 30+ minute telephone call with our Data Base/Email Blast providers extremely helpful support team we were shocked to learn that there is nothing they can do about it. Skimlinks just adds links as they see fit and our helpful Data Base/Email Blast provider unfortunately has no way to block them.

We went to the Skimlinks website and filled out their support request. We requested step by step instructions teaching us how to block their service. At the time of this writing we have not heard back from them.

How is it possible that you can send out an email, and then your email gets changed by a company that you didn’t ask to change it? How is it possible that your Data Base/Email Blast provider can’t stop a company from invading and altering the email blasts you pay good money for? Why is Skimlinks changing our emails that we pay for?

There are so many things wrong with this scenario we really don’t know where to begin.

So let’s start with the obvious. We understand that this is a software default and code issue. Obviously, nobody at Skimlinks saw our email and then mischievously hand altered the email. The mischief occurs in the leftist bias. The mischief occurs when the decision is made as to who gets nursed and pampered and who does not get nursed and pampered?

For example:

There is absolutely no way that Skimlinks would ever link the words: Michelle Obama to ANYTHING except 100% soft-soap compliments.

Clearly, that would never…ever…ever… happen.

The last four years have taught us that only fawning and back-scratching are acceptable towards the FLOTUS. Anything else is immediately condemned as RAAACIST when it comes to Michelle Obama, and our historic president.

Someone has to set the software defaults and codes. Someone had to take the extra step to make sure that any Skimlinks to the words Michelle Obama are not anything but flattering.

Skimlinks had the courtesy to take the extra step to make sure that Michelle Obama is coddled and affirmatively protected by their actions. Skimlinks also took the extra step to do the exact opposite to Governor Palin and make sure that their default ridicules her.

Skimlinks claims on their website that they can: Unlock the cash in your content and Discover new, automated revenue streams for your site.

If this were true couldn’t the default link be to Governor Sarah Palins NYT’s Best Seller Going Rogue? Heck, if they really wanted to unlock the cash wouldn’t it make more sense to link to the boxed set of Sarah Palin’s Alaska or The Undefeated instead of a crude dimestore purchase mocking her?

This isn’t an accident. This is more of the same. More of the same left wing cultural bias. This is a part of the pop culture #WAR that both the late Andrew Breitbart and Sarah Palin comprehend and grasp. Pop Culture IS the great influencer.

Bringing real change to America includes taking a stand against those in positions of power who dictate to our culture what is and what is not cool, what is and what is not funny, and what is and what is not acceptable.

We would like to challenge Skimlinks.

We dare you. In fact we double dare you to prove your statement that your company: augments, rather than intrudes on user experience

We double dare you to treat Michelle Obama and Sarah Palin equally. (Skimlinks isn’t against equality is it?) We double dare you to not coddle and affirmatively protect Michelle Obama by your actions.

Skimlinks links words to products. Here are a few suggesstions that Skimlinks can take the extra step on. The extra step includes Skimlinks researching and finding books and dvd’s that do not pamper and protect Michelle Obama, but instead treat her as equally as Skimlinks treats Sarah Palin:

1) How about linking the words Michelle Obama to a book or dvd about her (poorly written) racist college thesis. For the convenience of Skimlinks (and the extra step they will have to take) here are all four parts of Michelle Obama’s poorly written, racist thesis: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.

2) In honor of Skimlinks founding (in Sydney and London) maybe Skimlinks could link the words Michelle Obama to a book or dvd informing people that England and Australia were greatly insulted by The Obama’s from the begining of 2009. Obama’s first act began by returning to the British Embassy the bust of Winston Churchill . This bust has been in the Oval Office since 9/11. It was a gift from Prime Minister Tony Blair. The bust was an expression of British-American solidarity.

(Queen Elizabeth II is the constitutional monarch of the Commonwealth Realm which includes Australia)

3) Perhaps link the words Michelle Obama to a book or dvd letting people know that not everyone in America thinks the 1st Lady is the fashion plate she has been annointed to be by superficial suck-ups like Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, and the bulging ego of Oprah Winfrey. Some Americans think Michelle Obama wears dresses that resemble a cat-pee stained sofa.

4) Or better yet, why doesn’t Skimlinks link the words Michelle Obama to a book or dvd that informs hardworking citizens about her $15 Million Dollar Socialist Salad Bar for Children: Lettuce, Carrots, and Communism anyone?

The cultural leftist bias becomes more obvious everyday. Have you ever seen the above picture? This is the Tea Party picture the media will not show because the LSM and the Pop Culture Dictators want you to believe that the Tea Party is only for RAAACIST white people. The Tea Party picture above is more diverse than any of the United Colors of Benetton ads ever have been.

Aren’t you fed up with being called: stupid, crazy, intolerant, and RAAACIST by the LSM and the Pop Culture Dictators? Recent events have proved that when the grassroots come together, we win.

We must never surrender to the opposition.

As Independent common sense conservatives, we must understand what we are up against. In order to restore America, we must come together to fight this battle both at the ballot box, and in the culture.

Please join American Grizzlies United in the 2012 General Election as we continue to fight for the restoration of America. We need your help. We need both your help and your service. Get involved: HERE

In the 2012 General Election AGU will not only fight to elect a new wise congress of Independent fiscal conservatives, for our new president. We will also fight the opposition by poll watching, sign waving, canvassing, blogging, calling out The Hollywood Nerd Herd, and other activities outlined in our AGU: Citizen Activism Guide and The Grizzly Doctrine; A Crib Sheet.

As we build coalitions for 2012 we have a united goal. A united goal of sending the new president a wise congress, repealing and replacing The Obama’s (just think, Michelle Obama will be back in Chicago once again not proud of her country), and making darn sure the new wise congress is full of public servants ready to undo what Obama has done to us. The new wise congress must be jam packed with true public servants who are prepared to make the tough decisions, enact sudden and relentless reform, and put America back on the right track.

We are not expecting a reply from Skimlinks, as far as we are concerned Skimlinks is nothing more than the dust beneath Lady Margaret Thatchers shoes.

In honor of Skimlinks London office, we leave you with the words of Winston Churchill:

“We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender…”

Note: Special thank you to AGU-CA Volunteers Susan and Ray from essexandorange1773 for their continued GRRREAT imagery! Thank you Susan and Ray! (Ray even made it to the American Thinker recently: HERE)

SarahNET Radio’s Kevin Scholla Discusses Gov. Palin and More on CRF

SarahNET Radio Host Kevin Scholla appeared on Steven Rosenblum’s Conservative Republican Forum (CRF) to discuss a wide range of subjects related to Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and current political news, specifically her endorsements, and why he believes she should have been given a prominent speaking role at the forthcoming GOP convention in Tampa.

Everybody knows who Sarah is…Sarah Fires People Up

The interview aired prior to Gov. Palin releasing her Statement on the 2012 Republican Convention, which strongly implied that the decision on Gov. Palin not speaking there was at least partly hers. “This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I’m excited to hear them,” Gov. Palin wrote in her statement.

But, in the final hours before Gov. Palin issued her statement, Scholla said in part,

“If anybody was at CPAC…if anybody has seen her speak anywhere recently, she draws the excitement….Meantime, you ask the common person on the street, everybody knows who Sarah is. They don’t know who half of these people are. Sarah fires people up. Just look at the CPAC speech. If anyone wants to see anything, look at the energy at CPAC. Why did she give the keynote there? And that was a Romney crowd! He won the straw poll there. People were for Mitt Romney at CPAC this year, but guess what? They were brave enough to put her up there and it was a smashing success and it has been the same way before or since.”

He continued,

“Nothing like it. She talks like people want to hear and she knows what’s going and it’s not political. It’s not teleprompter. You have a guy now who only reads a teleprompter. This is a woman whose teleprompter went out during the convention and didn’t miss a beat, so this is speaking from the heart, from a servant’s heart, and speaking the truth, and speaking about a country that she loves so much.”

On Gov. Palin’s Endorsement Success Record

On Gov. Palin’s endorsements, Scholla said, until Steelman, “she was batting 1000. She lost only one. She still has Zoller out there. She has major victories with Cruz, Hatch, Mourdock, and Fischer.” Gov. Palin “endorsed [Sandy] Adams. You don’t need title to make a difference and she’s proven it.” Scholla said her endorsements are “very much affecting what’s going on. They will force Romney to govern from the right. But, it also shows how the party is so dysfunctional.”

As this story goes to press, Gov. Palin has an 85.71% endorsement success rate on the 2012 candidates she has endorsed in which an election has been held (Ed. Note: though Scott Walker was not officially listed as an endorsement, I am counting him as an endorsement, since Gov. Palin numerous times supported him and stumped for him during the failed recall attempt. She re-stated her support hin while endorsing Lt. Gov. Kleefisch. I consider her actions more than sufficient to count as an endorsement, even absent the words, “I endorse”). Her 2010 success rate was 67% overall, which was still far better than just about any politician on either side of the aisle.

Scholla referenced a Florida seat in in a Democratic Party stronghold that no Republican is willing to touch. Two Democrats are vying for the seat in a bitter identity politics-based campaign. “Gov. Palin and a few others like Allen West have a steel spine, but this stuff knocks out good people from running,” Scholla said. Returning to endorsements, he said, Gov. Palin “does not endorse based on who is a perceived conservative or Tea Partier. She will endorse incumbents who are doing a good job. “It’s about character, integrity, trust and following the Constitution.”

On Romney-Ryan

Scholla said he “likes the Ryan pick” in general, but “loves the pick compared to short list that was being considered. It was one of the best moves Romney camp has made so far.” He expressed concern that McCain people working for Romney could throw Ryan under the bus. Scholla said he “never expected Romney to be nominee.” He took issue with McCain “liking” Obama in 2008, while “Gov. Palin gave the [real] Straight Talk….McCain tanked because the economy tanked,” he said and Obama got the votes from large groups he was able to successfully rally around him.

The difference this time is that Ryan as a Vice Presidential candidate is trying to get us out of an existing mess. Gov. Palin was hit with the mess at the least opportune time, yet performed far above the call of duty.

Scholla said the “visceral hate toward Gov. Palin is rooted in her being a woman.” Though Gov. Palin advocated for Allen West to be Romney’s running mate, “we have to unite behind ticket. Ryan can handle himself too,” Scholla said.

He expressed hope that unlike McCain, Romney will counter-punch on Obama’s attacks. “Romney should not be doing what McCain did.” Scholla said there should be “no Obama is over his head” playbook. “Obama is intelligent, and knows what he is doing. He is moving the country to the left.

Scholla also noted that the Democrats unite wholeheartedly even after bitter primaries. Republicans in contrast are lukewarm in their unity and these divisions end up costing them elections.

Stacy Drake spoke to this in Scott Conroy: Palin’s Absence From Convention may Expose Rift. Drake wrote:

“Just remember, don’t lose sight of what Governor Palin is focused on. It’s really what we should all be focused on. Staying angry about this isn’t going to help this country one bit. We have better things to do with our energy.”

Bristol Palin

Scholla expressed his absolute support of Bristol Palin and her show Life’s a Tripp. He decried the hypocrisy and double standards applied by those who rail against Bristol, but think “it’s cute” when celebrities who hold leftist views do the same things she has — or far worse. He thanked Bristol for posting his interview with Todd Palin about Stars Earn Strips on Bristol’s Blog.

Scholla’s Background

Scholla is a sports and news anchor, as well as an announcer for professional and college sports teams. The Palin Update on SarahNET Radio is one of at least two online shows he hosts. Scholla works “Batman hours.” The Palin Update started when the Palinista community thought Gov. Palin would run for President. The show was conceived to provide factual coverage on her and counter the lies spread by the mainstream media. After she decided not to run, Scholla knew Gov. Palin had a bright political future and the show continued without interruption. The show airs each weekend with a new interview, news, and Palin family updates. “We follow the whole beat.” The Palin Update is promoted on YouTube, US for Palin, Facebook, Twitter, and SarahNET Radio, among numerous other venues where it is syndicated, such as the American Grizzlies United / Organize4Palin State System (AGU). Scholla is the AGU’s Pennsylvania State Coordinator. Conservatives4Palin also features selected shows.

Amy Kremer, Tea Party Express on SP Radio: “We Want Gov. Palin to Speak at RNC”

“So far the RNC has nine sitting and four former governors speaking and [former Alaska Governor] Sarah Palin isn’t one of them,” LaDonna Hale Curzon, Host and Executive Producer, Sarah Palin Radio said as she opened her interview with Amy Kremer. “It’s completely unbelievable to me that the biggest star of the Republican Party, the Vice Presidential candidate from four years ago is not going to be included at this convention,” she said.

Kremer said the RNC is still releasing names of speakers. “There is no one who excites the base like Gov. Palin and people want to hear from her.” Curzon asked if maybe Gov. Palin will be invited, “but the RNC is keeping it big secret?” Kremer answered, “maybe. You never know what’s going on behind the scenes obviously, so I don’t know if she has been asked and they haven’t released it or she hasn’t been asked….there are millions of people out there who support her and want to hear from her.”

RNC and Romney Need Us More than We Need Them…

“No one has done more for this country than this grassroots movement — the Tea Party — and the loud voice of Gov. Palin,” Kremer said. “The party and Mitt Romney need us more than we need them. I believe they need to embrace the Tea Party movement, embrace Gov. Palin, and let’s all work together to make Obama a one-term President.”

Kremer said that Ted Cruz’ victory in spite of being out-spent 4:1 by David Dewhurst was from his passionate supporters working to get him elected. She said that Mitt Romney is going to need grass roots — “people with fire in the belly” — boots on the ground to get elected. She said that while “squishy moderate Republicans might donate their dollars, they’re not the ones going out there knocking on doors, making phone calls, and whatnot. It’s the grassroots that do that, and I don’t know how it can be won without the grassroots.”

Curzon agreed and said that people who don’t feel that passion might vote, but they’re are not going to do Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Work. “Money does not buy elections,” Kremer said. “The bottom line is you have to have the grassroots out there doing the hard work to win the election.”

Kremer said, “without Gov. Palin and the Tea Party, there’s no chance in Hell of taking back the White House and the Senate.” She added that if there were no Tea Party, the country would have already gone over the fiscal cliff.”

Curzon asked why it appears that Romney does not care about the Tea Party conservatives or Gov. Palin. “I don’t know that they don’t care. I hope they understand the power of the movement and why we’re important. Look, 2010 didn’t happen because of the Republican Party. 2010 happened because of the Tea Party. Anybody who thinks it happened because of the Republican Party is just simply delusional,” Kremer said. “Again, they need us more than we need them…I honestly don’t know how they can do it without us.”

No More Falling in Line

“We are that variable they can’t control. They can’t control the Tea Party movement. Yes, we may be supporting Republicans, but what we’ve all learned is that there is a difference between being a conservative and a Republican. We are conservatives. The reason we’re here is because the Republican Party got away from its core principles and values. The movement got started because people were fed up with both political parties, especially the Republican Party,” Kremer said.

“We are a threat to the power that they hold….and they don’t like that, and I’m sure they don’t know what to do right now. I’m sure they know they need us….I hope they embrace the movement. I hope they understand that it’s not wise to alienate Gov. Palin.”

Kremer cited the Wisconsin recall defeat as an example of a grassroots success. The Republican Party did little or nothing to defeat the recall, she said. It was grassroots activists who ensured Gov. Walker and Lt. Gov. Kleefisch stayed in office.

Curzon said that the Republican Party “wants more robotic than rogue.” Kremer said the GOP mentality is of “falling in line,” but people are no longer taking their marching order from the party. “They’re sick of it.” She said that instead of giving their money to the Republican Party, people are donating directly to individual candidates and organizations.”

We Must Get Obama Out of Office…

Kremer emphasized that “the biggest thing is, we need to take back the Senate and get President Obama out of office, and it’s going to take all of us to do that.” She said Tea Party Express does have a good relationship with the Romney campaign and the organization will be at the convention with details to be released in another week or so. The Tea Party Express Phone Banking Bus will most likely be there. It was used during the Cruz / Dewhurst runoff.

“Anybody who says ‘Mitt Romney’ is not my candidate, because the candidate I wanted is not the nominee’ — that’s simply a vote for Obama,” Kremer said. “We cannot go down that road. This could be the last free election of our lifetimes, if he is reelected. He’s already spoken about wanting to take over more industries like he did with the auto industry. We cannot continue down this path. It truly is about fundamentally changing this country.”

Curzon asked Kremer who should thought Romney was going to pick as his running mate. “I don’t know, but I hope it’s Marco Rubio,” she said.

Curzon and Kremer spoke about the Wisconsin US Senate race and an advertisement by a leftist group. The conversation moved to the federal budget, and Kremer said “The last time the Democrat-led Senate passed a budget, the iPad didn’t even exist.”

.@AGUGrizzlies: Get Your #GRRR On For @ChickFilA!

Some people support traditional marriage. Some people do not support traditional marriage. Some people want to redefine marriage. Some people do not want to redefine marriage.

Not wanting to redefine marriage isn’t mean, bigoted, hate speech, homophobic, or any of the other intolerant and narrow minded insults that the Liberals are hurling around these days.

Here at American Grizzlies United we prefer the traditional definition of marriage; and also believe in the right of consenting adults to choose relationships and civil unions* that are best for them. (as outlined in The Grizzly Doctrine; A Crib Sheet page 23)

*NOTE: Even the famous Drag Queen The Lady Bunny says:

I think we should have taken civil unions when Bush offered them”

Additionally, AGU believes this is a state issue.

This is the national dialogue that should be taking place.

Unfortunately, that is not what is happening.

For the State to try to shut down businesses because of what their owners personal views happen to be is a very scary thing.

It seems a bit Un-American for Obama supporters and Democrats to be so devilishly hell-bent on punishing and shutting down a business because of what they think. Chick-fil-A is a privately owned American Company.

Obama supporters and Democrats in major cities like Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, and (of course) San Francisco, have been leading a malicious ban on the privately owned Chick-fil-A’s plans for expansion.

Shame on them, why are they doing this?

All because the owner of this privately owned American Company said he supports the traditional definition of marriage.

One Obama supporter (Philadelphia City Councilman Jim Kenney) even introduced a resolution reprehending the privately owned American Company and it’s President:

“This particular individual is rabidly homophobic and wants to deny Americans civil rights that are enjoyed by every other American”

The unemployment rate in America is lingering around 8.2%. The privately owned American Company Chick-fil-A has thousands (and thousands) of employees.

Under Obama’s fundamental transformation of America; is it better to not have a job than support traditional marriage?

Again, WTF?

Doesn’t it seem like Obama supporters and Democrats who constantly lecture us on tolerance are the least tolerant of all? It seems like the message Obama supporters are sending is: If you disagree with us you better shut up or you will face our repercussions!

The persecution of those who dissent from Obama these days is very chilling.

On the bright side: November is right around the corner.

(If Shiva understands the 1st Amendment why can’t Obama supporters?)

Now more than ever we need to remember that in order to repeal and replace Obama’s fundamental transformation of America with a fundamental restoration of America we need all hands on deck.

Please take a minute to register with American Grizzlies United so that we can work together to get America back on track.

Together we can fire those with a basic contempt for the American people, and hire true public servants, and reformers who understand what a sacred honor it is to be an American.

All hands on deck!

Our work continues…

Tea Party Nation Pres on SP Radio: We Want Gov Palin to Speak at RNC Convention

Judson Phillips, President, Tea Party Nation said on Sarah Palin Radio that the Republican Party should thank Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for their success in 2010 brought about by her and the Tea Party by giving her the keynote speaking slot at the RNC Convention in Tampa. He said nobody “has been as associated with the Tea Party as Sarah Palin.” Phillips hosted the first national Tea Party convention and Gov. Palin was the keynote speaker.

Mark America, Mr. L, Stacy Drake, and other prominent Palinistas have all weighed in on the speaking arrangements subject. Another possibility to consider is that Gov. Palin could cover the convention in her capacity as a Fox News contributor. If she were to act in her Fox News capacity at the convention, that would preclude her from being part of the proceedings. As this story goes to press, Gov. Palin has not been invited to speak in any capacity at the RNC, and no information is available on what role she’ll play during the convention, Fox News or otherwise.

Hillary Clinton Supporter Defends Gov. Palin on SarahNET Radio

This Week on The Palin Update with Kevin Scholla: Hillary Clinton supporter Anita Finlay defends Sarah Palin! The author of Dirty Words on Clean Skin talks to Kevin about the sexist treatment endured by both Clinton and Palin. Meantime, Governor Palin thrills the crowd at the Right Online conference in Vegas! Also, prayers for Robin Roberts. Plus, Palin recognizes Flag Day and wishes a special happy birthday to the U.S. Army! It’s all on SarahNET Radio ON DEMAND!

Sexism and Misogyny Rampant in Both Parties

Anita Finlay starred as Dr. Nora Thompson on The Young and the Restless for seven years, and worked on network TV shows such as 24, Gilmore Girls, and Judging Amy. Finlay wrote Dirty Words on Clean Skin about the poor treatment of women during the 2008 campaign. Though the book is primarily about the candidate Finlay supported, she devoted a large chapter to defending former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Indeed, many of the women angry over Clinton’s treatment refused to unite behind Obama. They were called PUMA, an acronym which means, “Party Unity My A–.” Many PUMAs went on to be some of Gov. Palin’s fiercest and most dedicated supporters.

Finlay said that sexism runs rampant in politics – in both parties. “I could not be a hypocrite. I could not defend a Democratic woman against misogyny and let a Republican one put up with it. I don’t think that’s correct or fair. You need to speak out against this no matter who the source is and no matter who the target,” she said.

The book also contains a chapter on Michelle Obama, who is a victim of sexism according to Finlay by being cast “in a sweater set as sort of a ’50s mom, so that she does not appear so threatening.” She said in news reporting, men’s opinions outnumber women’s four to one and when the subject is women’s issues, the ratio increases to five to one.

Finlay recounted how the release of some 25,000 of Gov. Palin’s emails was portrayed as a smear. Nothing untoward was found in the entire stack. Rather, it proved that she was a hard-working executive. But, reporters pored over the emails in a fishing expedition hoping to find a smoking gun. Finlay said it would not be fair of her to pretend that did not happen. Scholla’s email correspondences with Gov. Palin were part of the stack. He said her emails to him demonstrated leadership and normality.

She said conservatives and Democrats should get together on correcting this issue.

Finlay said Democratic elders’ desire to elevate the neophyte Senator Obama to the Presidency – “to make him a president by proxy” was at the root of their maltreatment of Hillary Clinton. The focus she said was on non-issues such as her ankles. “Shrill,” and “shrew” were among the milder and non-vulgar names she was called. Finlay said, Hillary Clinton had a firm grasp on the economy and as Clinton herself put it, “apprenticed for eight years in the White House.” Finlay said Clinton was “was in the room the with the most powerful decision-maker in the world.”

What Finlay found “shocking is how long the sexism had been bubbling beneath the surface.”

She said, whole notion of Obama making history by being elected did not make sense, “as if the first woman after 43 men would not make even greater history? Are you kidding me?”

Scholla noted that Ann Romney was condemned for “not working a day in her life,” and Finlay noted that Gov. Palin was called a bad mother, because she was working. “The working mommy is no good and the stay-at-home mommy is no good. The media narrative is flexible and adjustable, like the Goldilocks Syndrome. It’s too hot, it’s too cold, but it’s never just right,” Finlay said.

“She Who Must not be Named: A Look at Sarah Palin”

The chapter describes how women’s groups such as NOW, who are supposed to fight for all women tend to be mute when the woman is a Palin or someone like Michele Bachmann. “I could not join the daily lynching,” Finlay wrote in that chapter. Scholla asked, “why have others not been able to resist ganging up on the governor?”

Media Friendly to Gov. Palin till she Got in the Way of “The One”

“Well, I think that she was very threatening. You have to remember Julianne Moore, the actress who played her in that movie, Game Change on HBO – she even admitted it. She said, ‘look. We were afraid as Democrats we were not going to take the White House. She was an electrifying presence.’ I think she summed it up in a nutshell,” Finlay said.

She continued, “when she was elected governor, she was rather a liberal darling at the time. She took on corruption in her own party, took on the big oil companies and won. So, the media and NewsWeek actually wrote something nice about her, where I point out she was willing to reach across the aisle and work with Democrats…so they were a little more friendly to her until she got in the way of The One.”

Hillary Clinton was maltreated for the same reason. Finlay noted that S.E. Cupp’s likeness was used in a doctored photo in Hustler Magazine to “punish her for her political views.”

“I don’t recall too many conservatives jumping up and down to decry the treatment Hillary was getting either,” Finlay said.

Shifting back to Gov. Palin, Finlay said that she was often portrayed as a “reactionary and a loony.” During the 2008 campaign, Gov. Palin, then Sens. Biden, McCain, and Obama were all united in being against gay marriage. “If you don’t like a woman and want to take her down, do what you’ve gotta do, but be honest and stick with the issues, and leave the personal out of it,” Finlay said. She referred to an article about Gov. Palin attending a barbecue in 95-degree heat and how it focused on her “open toed sandals and her red toenails.”

Women of Both Parties Treated Equally Bad

Shifting to Hillary Clinton, Finlay said she had done so many things for women in the United States and around world, for the past 40 years that have gone unreported – for instance fighting to stop women from being used as “prizes of war.” Letterman, who infamously cracked the sexist “slutty flight attendant” remark about Gov. Palin also used to target Clinton with sexist remarks about her pant-suits.

Finlay said she wrote Dirty Words on Clean Skin, because this has to stop. She said she took a risk because she is an actress. “We don’t want to raise our children to believe that – no matter what your politics are – that we should talk about women this way. This is not about women superseding men. We are in a coed universe and we’re all here to work together, but I think we empower each other by respecting the skill sets each one of us brings to the table,” Finlay said.

Finlay in her book highlighted the hypocrisy about Howard Dean running small Vermont being acceptable, but Gov. Palin running Alaska was not. She defended Gov. Palin on the “see Russia” comments, and the wardrobe debacle.

Politics Should Not Break Up Families and Friendships

Scholla said that Obama has broken up friendships and families. Finlay had run-ins with friends over him. She said, “What I think is kind of odd is that you would trust a politician who is being handled and who is being conducted as large theater, who you’ve never met, who you don’t know from a hole in the wall; you’re only believing media hype over somebody you know to be sane, sober, reliable person.”

She said, “we have to stop denigrating each other. We have our dividing lines – it advantages politicians who want to fill their coffers by stoking your fears. It’s not something that’s going to help our economy or help us have equal rights.”

She said the establishments of the GOP and the Democrats came down on Gov. Palin and Hillary Clinton, because “these women are threatening.” She said jealousy and “sour grapes” on the part of both men and women may be a factor too. But, Finlay said, “you don’t get to where Gov. Palin is by being a moron….it’s not possible, especially not for woman.”

AGU: Happy Memorial Day

Memorial Day is the perfect time to look at America today, look at America’s days gone by and look into America’s days to come.

As Americans we are free citizens.

Once again we are called upon to solve the challenges, the problems, and the trials facing our country.

We have the Liberty to take the initiative, to strike, and to use our vision and our talents to solve America’s problems on our own.

Our freedom has been given to us by our country’s women and men in uniform who have selflessly served America and America’s interests abroad.

We are concretely bound to those who have died so that we may remain free.

Our inheritance of freedom is durable yet delicate. Current events across the globe show us that Liberty can be scarce, and that America is exceptional.

On this Memorial Day 2012, American Grizzlies United would like to honor and give glory to the selfless heroic Americans who gave all serving their country.

Let us show respect and appreciation for their sacrifice. Let us restore our boldness against our aggressors. Let us renew our poise to defend and secure our freedoms; and let us revive our spirit of helpful conscience to champion enduring harmony all over the World.

Happy Memorial Day from American Grizzlies United

Our work continues…

Memorial Day and Rolling Thunder

Governor Palin today posted on Facebook:

Todd and I and our family would like to wish you all a happy Memorial Day weekend. We’d especially like to offer our best wishes to our friends in Rolling Thunder who will be taking part in their Ride for Freedom this weekend in D.C. as they do each year to honor our vets and specifically to bring awareness to POW/MIA issues. We were honored to join them last year.

We were both sad to learn that Preston “Jay” Fairlamb, Jr., one of the organizers of Rolling Thunder and someone who made us so welcome last year, tragically died in an accident last week.  Jay was a Vietnam vet, a retired New Jersey State Trooper, and a great American who will be dearly missed.  Please keep his wife, his children, grandchildren and his innumerable friends in your prayers.

On this Memorial Day weekend, may God bless our brave men and women in uniform.

Sen Hatch Thanks Gov. Palin for Endorse on Sarah Palin Radio

Testament to Gov. Palin’s Character, Friendship, Loyalty

US Senator (UT) Orrin Hatch today thanked former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for her endorsement during an interview with LaDonna Hale Curzon, Executive Producer and Host, Sarah Palin Radio. “She was so kind to me last summer…her decision to stand by me not just last night, but last summer really is a testament to her character, friendship, and loyalty, and is something I will never forget,” Sen. Hatch said.

Gov. Palin Brings Most Excitement for Conservative Cause in Decades

He said her endorsement is “really important” to his campaign.

“She has brought more excitement to the conservative cause than any single person in decades, and she is a force to be reckoned with. Our country is a better place with Sarah in it fighting for the values of limited government, individual responsibility, family values, strong national defense. In my race, some have tried to make me into some sort of moderate or even a liberal. Of course, everybody who knows anything about it knows that is is not true. I have and always will be a conservative. I just am so pleased that she took the time to endorse me,” he said.

Curzon asked Sen. Hatch if he was concerned that his primary opponent might catch the anti-incumbent Tea Party wave. “We’ll, he’s trying to, but I think most Tea Party people know I’ve been there for a long time and I’ve always been supportive of the mainstream Tea Party folks throughout the country. I actually have had a lot of kindness from the Tea Party Express group in California.”

Gov. Palin’s Endorsement as Good as Pres. Reagan’s Was

He continued, “I think most people know that [Gov. Palin] is a true blue conservative and she doesn’t endorse somebody she doesn’t believe in. One thing about Sarah, she is a straight arrow. She’s as good a person as you can find. I like her husband, Todd too….it thrills me to death to have them supportive of me…anytime you have somebody of the quality of Sarah and Todd endorsing you – in my life it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Sen. Hatch said he was the only person that Ronald Reagan had pre-primary endorsed. “That was great too. I’d rank this right up with that.”

On Romney

Curzon asked Sen. Hatch if he has ever worked directly with Mitt Romney.

“Oh yes. I think the world of him. I know him very well. I worked with him on the Olympics out in UT. You know, we were in trouble. We couldn’t raise money. There were accusations of fraud, mismanagement – there were even some criminal allegations. They were not accurate, but they were there, and the money stopped coming, and it looked as though it was going to be the biggest eyesore in the history of the Olympic[s]. We decided to bring Mitt out here and almost overnight he turned it into the greatest Winter Olympics in Winter Olympic history, and we even wound up with a $100 million surplus at the end to take care of the venues after the Olympics were over. He is one heck of a leader, and when he says he knows how to create jobs, and he knows how to get the economy going, he’s not kidding. He really does.”

Curzon asked Sen. Hatch who he would like Romney pick as his Vice Presidential running mate. “I would not even venture. There’s a lot of good people…and I can support any one of them. That’s strictly up to him. There are a lot of good people. Everybody ranging from Marco Rubio to Sen. Portman to our new woman governor out in California, to Jeb Bush – you know I don’t want to leave anybody out – there are a lot of outstanding people,” he said adding Condoleeza Rice as being a possibility.

On the Nikki Haley Piñata

She asked Sen Hatch about leftists beating a piñata with South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley’s picture on it.

“You know they can get very rude. They can get very partisan. That’s what’s wrong. I was raised in the union movement. I actually learned a skilled trade and worked with my bare hands in the building construction trade for 10 years as one of the ways I put myself through school. I was also a janitor. There’s nothing uppity about me. I was proud to do it, because I worked my own way through school. But, I’ve got to tell you, the unions have gone so partisan – Democrat – but 40% of the union members are Republican – they’ve gone so partisan that I think they’re hurting themselves very badly. And doing something like that, I mean that goes beneath the pale. Nobody should denigrate a person like that. But, I’m really disappointed in the people in the unions.”

Sen. Hatch: Songwriter

Curzon noted that Sen. Hatch had written over 600 songs in his lifetime. The Utah Senator acknowledged that he wrote songs and a number were published in print form performed live.

“The Tabernacle Choir has got three of my songs, Brooks & Dunn did one of my songs. I’ve had some very interesting people and I’ve written with some very great writers. So, it’s a lot of fun for me and it takes the edge off these pressures I have in the Senate. I started writing inspirational, then patriotic, then Christmas songs and love songs, and country songs….I’d say there’s 100 – 125 that have been produced in one way or the other, but I’ve written a lot more than that and have lyrics that may never get into song form,” he said.
